Play Dough

Kids just love to tinker with their hands and my son is no exception. He loves to create things using clay and play dough. In my earlier posts, I mentioned he made an airplane and a ship. When his last play dough hardened I had to get him a new one and he had the most fun doing his latest creations.

This is actually the molds of different animals that was embedded in the clay lids.
Fruit basket
Cake
PenguinHis version of me. Ganda ng mommy no!
This is suppose to be a ship but by it looks more like a train. What do you think? a hippy worm maybe?

Karate Kid

When my son started kinder last year I decided to enroll him into a karate class so he would learn the basics and at the same time maybe just maybe loose some of those precious bilbil. I am so glad I did because his "sanse" or master tells me he is one of the most attentive students in the class and very eager to learn the moves. Not yet the karate Kid siguro Kimono ken pa lang.Hahahaaha!

LG Detergent Free

If only the cost of having your clothes washed and ironed in a laundry shop is cheap, I would have done it regularly but as it is I have to contend myself to using our sturdy and ever reliable washing machine. Don't get me wrong, my washing machine is in good working condition but when I saw this from an appliance store window, I thought wow! detergent free pa. Wala lang wishful thinking lang po.
I know there are more sophisticated washing machines out there and other brands but look at how much one can save from using minimal detergent. Question is, mabango kaya? Hhm...

Kani Salad

Lettuce, shredded crab meat, mango, shredded cucumber, lite mayo and that black and orange thingy on top. I can live on kani salad. This is just a gorgeous meal and super delish!

Yoghurt Crazy

I love yoghurt! Yup, it's my thing now. I dream about this creamy, fruity, yummy stuff all the time. Okay, that's an exaggeration but lately I have been craving  YOGHURT! Now, this works really well for me since I am trying to loose weight and since this stuff is low fat it makes me less feel guilty everytime I eat the stuff. So here goes my top faves....

Hubby and I happen to chance by FIC market market and saw that they have a yoghurt selection called Black Currant. I almost did not order this because I dont know exactly what currant means but still glad I did because it is so delicious. The balance of the sour with the sweet is just perfect. Highly recommended.

Now, White Hat tops my list, ever since I tasted this when it opened in MOA, hubby and I have been going back for more. Their toppings has a very wide variety.

Yoghurt Froz comes second because in my opinion it taste more like real ice cream than yoghurt. Too sweet for my taste but still worth trying.

And of course, since yoghurt is very expensive the best and the cheapest yoghurt variety is of course none other than Nestle Yoghurt. This comes in strawberry, mango, mixed berries and buko flavors and best served frozen. Yummy!!!!!!

Chopsticks

One thing I admire about my son is his tenacity. When he wants to do something he will insist and find a way for him to do it come hell or high water. Probably got this trait from his dad. So one time when we were eating in a japanese restaurant, he saw mommy and daddy using chopsticks and wanted to try it for himself. Before we can even finish teaching him the basics he would say, "me na! me na! I can do it!". After a few failed attempts, Ian was eating away his jap rice on his own. Hubby and I was so proud of him.

Cuts for tot's

"Dad I'm ready to have my haircut?", what my son told his daddy while they were in the mall one day. We have been trying to convince him for the longest time and then suddenly without any cajoling, he decided it was time.

Reading

I am trying my best to instill in my son the love for reading ever since he was a baby. In fact, I have been reading to him for the longest time and let me tell you it takes a real discipline on my part to do that especially when all you  want to do is finish that hbo movie that's playing on tv. Goodwill and booksale are my usual book haunts for my kid and most of the time I choose books base on their storyline and pictures to make it more interesting for my son otherwise it will just accumulate dust on the shelves. But what I really enjoy most about reading to him is the way he responds to the characters and the events in the story as I try my best to read to him creatively  and animately. Each laughter, each question, and each show of emotion from my son inspires me to be a better storyteller, in fact he likes it more when I make up stories of prince and princesses, of ghosts, and of superheroes. This is also one way for me to teach my son about values and differentiate what is right from wrong.

Swimming

Yup! That's right! Swimming is a favorite past time of my son. So one lazy saturday morning we went to the clubhouse so he can enjoy the cool waters of the pool while mommy had fun taking pictures.
No sooner than a few minutes when we got there he already has a playmate. Cute noh!
Ok, I'm biased. But he really is so adorable in this picture.
Nice strokes!
Mommy! It's so hot!

After two hours or so, I had to bribe him to get out of the pool and go home. Naku kundi ngipin lang ang makikita sa kanya sa sobrang itim nya.

Nido Commercial

I have always been fond of the Nido commercial of Sharon Cuneta and her kids. I even love the song which goes something like...

“You’re My Number One”

Lyrics by: Sandy Sulit
Music by: Caloy Agawa
Performed by: Sharon Cuneta, with daughters Frankie and Miel Pangilinan

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

And there’s no treasure
That i will cherish like you

And when i smile
They all see you glow
And they all know
You’re my number one

My one and only joy
Is to give you my love

(bridge)
My one love for you
I give through and through
I see you and the signs that bring joy
That all the world can see so clearly

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

Biggest Full Moon of 2009

Tonight, the biggest and the brightest full moon will appear in the skies for the year 2009. They call this moon the "wolf moon". Scientists say that the moon tonight will be 14 percent bigger in the sky and 30 percent brighter than all the other moons during 2009. Now some believe that a full moon has influence on our behavior. People tend to be erratic and impulsive, and displays a somewhat lunatic behavior. There is no scientific evidence that will back up this theory but my guess is that it gives some of us a ridiculous reason to act a certain way.
This was taken around 5:43 pm right outside our window.
This was taken around 5:43 pm  right outside our window.
I took this without flash and was totally awed why there appeared alien like frequency lines. Gave me the goosebumps.
And still another shot. My son and I had a wonderful time looking at the moon. He even told me to make a wish as he made his own.  Since we moved, I've witnessed some really breathtaking sight of the moon and for some reason I feel more calmer and at peace with myself. It even inspires me to dream more and think of endless possibilities. Thank you Lord for the moon.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

My husband and I love watching movies. I especially love period films that gives the audience a glimpse of  the entire life span of an interesting character, for example is Forrest Gump and Legends of the Falls which by the way is also starred in by Brad Pitt. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a movie that chronicles the life of a man who was born in his eighties and ages backwards. The  setting of the film is in New Orleans post World War I up to the 20th century. This movie is a story of love that transcends death, of love that is lost and is found, and of love that is unconditional.

With Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton at the helm of the movie, the cast alone should make it a movie worth watching.  The way the movie was shot was so incredibly dreamy it's like your reading a romantic novel. Pitt's laid back performance of the main character reminds me of Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump and he was just totally eye candy. Brad reminds me of a young Marlon Brando, James Dean, and Robert Redford. I will give this movie an A rating.

A New Car

I have this recurring daydream, that I was one of the contestant of the Price is Right and Bob Barker would say..."Nova, come on down", then on that same show I would win, then he'd say..."Nova you have just won a brand new car!".

I decided that this would be the first from a series of blogs about the law of attraction that I would be doing under this site. To start the year off... welcome my brand new car. This is the new Toyota Fortuner 2009 model.

The interiors is classy and it is so spacious. I won this angel key chain last Christmas and it will have the honor of holding the key to my new car.

Now where would I go? Hmmm...so many places to go so little time...

How good was the soup?

New year's eve dinner, my husband ordered brocolli soup but since my son has a thing for soups, guess who finished it and if he liked the soup. See how much gusto he puts in every mouthful.

 Going....
going....
gone.
And in a few minutes everything just vanished. I was afraid he'd eaten the plate seal akala ko nga hihingi pa ng seconds considering adult plate yun. But what I love most about my son now is he wants to taste everything and would ask me, "mommy masarap ba yan? pa taste nga." Isn't he adorable.
